Measures 8" in diameter and 4 3/4" tall (inside case)
"The inscriptions on this barometer read “Wallace & Tiernan / Pennwalt / Belleville, New Jersey” and “Model FA 185300.” The scale reads from 13.0 to 21.0 inches of mercury, divided to 0.02 inches and numbered each 0.1 inch. A second scale reads from 21.0 to 30.5 millibars. There is a leather carrying case. Charles Wallace and Martin Tiernan began in business in New York City in 1913, trading as Wallace & Tiernan. Their first product, the very successful chlorinator, was designed to disinfect water supplies with chlorine gas. The firm moved to Belleville, N.J., in 1921. It began making precision pressure instruments in the 1930s. A merger in 1969 led to the establishment of the Pennwalt Corp."
