Description

~~~This is a really pretty 1960's era dress suit reminiscent of the Jackie O/Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis days. I would call the color ivory. Some may call it off-white or light cream. The dress is similar to a slip dress or chemise style and has sturdy spaghetti straps. It is fully lined and falls below the knees. The neckline is scooped and it is a little tapered in the waist for a more fitted look.  The back has a long metal zipper, which is in good working order.
~~~The short jacket has three fabric buttons and a hook closure at the top. The sleeves are 3/4 length long. It has what looks similar to a rolled collar. (I'm not sure if that is the correct terminology for this collar, but that is the closest that I could come up with). It is also fully lined (except the sleeves) and has a tiny black speck on the lining in the middle, which is barely noticeable. There is a ribbon which is attached in the inside waist area. I do not know what it is for and have never seen one. Maybe it is to keep your slip or camisole in place.( Please refer to photos 6,7,8 and 9). Some of the bottom edge of the jacket has curled up and looks like it just needs to be pressed down with an iron.
~~~The fabric of these retro garments is unknown, since there is no fabric content tag. My best guess would be a rayon or rayon blend. There are medium sized flowers throughout the skirt and jacket. The pattern has a raised texture with a very fine weaved pattern underneath.  The fabric looks very elegant. I purchased this outfit from a friend who told me that her aunt had worn this to her wedding in the 1960's.  (It's possible that this was only worn once, or at the very least, came from one owner).
~~~There are no manufacturer's labels attached, but this appears to be a well made garment, possibly from a department or high end store.  There are also no cleaning method tags, but I would definitely dry clean only.  The only tag present is a tiny "size 9" tag. In today's world, this looks like it would fit a XS-Small, possibly a 4 or 6?, but please refer to measurements provided to make sure.
~~~This timeless 2 piece would also be appropriate for a mother of the bride, worn for a special occasion or black tie or  business event, 1960's re-enactment or reunion, weddings, etc. I think this would also be suitable for a younger bride or a second or third time bride if someone is looking for a more refined look.
~~~I did not notice any rips, tears, stains, snags, or unusual odors (other than the tiny speck in the lining). There is no staining under the armpits. Any discolored/discolorations/fading/faded looks are due to the lighting or camera flash and are not flaws. The blue flower pin in the last photo is not included with the dress.
